We are developing a small modular reactor to create power on board of large offshore vessels. Nuclear power is clean, reliable and enables refuelling cycles of years. This may be a game-changer for the maritime industry.

Your role

As nuclear engineer you will be part of the multidisciplinary nuclear team within the Innovations Department. You will various calculations to determine the reactor design, working with different codes. You will collaborate with highly skilled multidisciplinary engineers to develop a safe and offshore-ready reactor design.

Key responsibilities:

• Conduct neutronic calculations using a number of different codes;
• Interpretation of results and apply those to reactor design choices;
• Literature research and training to develop relevant nuclear reactor knowledge;
• Collaborate with engineering teams to incorporate design requirements;
• Evaluate and ensure compliance with safety requirements.

What we expect from you

• BSc/MSc degree in (Applied) Physics, Nuclear Physics, Mechanical, Control, or Electrical Engineering or equivalent;
• Two or more years of relevant work experience within the nuclear industry;
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
• Affinity and experience with coding (e.g. Python or Linux);
• Good command of the English language, both written and spoken, with strong communication and collaboration skills.
