Radio Navigation Engineer
- Contribute to the design, development, and R&D activities of Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) and Geolocation systems led by the Navigation Systems Definition Section.
- Support ESA navigation projects (e.g., GALILEO, LEO-PNT, FutureNAV) and R&D activities in system, signal, receiver and performance analysis for PNT and Geolocation.
- Design, implement, and test systems, signals and receiver techniques, analyse system and user performance, including Galileo PRS and authentication services.
- Contribute to ESA’s R&D strategy and research programmes in areas such as:
- Future PNT concepts and systems
- LEO-PNT and multi-layer PNT
- 5G/6G non-terrestrial network positioning
- Lunar, Mars, and solar system PNT
- Deep space navigation
- Geolocation and RFI monitoring
Space receivers and advanced signal processing for improved accuracy and resilience.
- Support the design, definition, and monitoring of industrial contracts, including R&D projects and procurement of GNSS breadboards, receivers and test user equipment.
- Participate in standardisation bodies and technical working groups related to these fields.
- Support the design, implementation, maintenance and operation of radio navigation equipment, simulation tools, and test facilities for end-to-end performance and receiver testing.

- Master’s degree in Engineering.
- Solid background and hands-on experience in the design, implementation and testing of systems in some of the following areas:
- GNSS/Galileo systems, signals and receivers
- Galileo PRS systems and authentication
- LEO-PNT systems and receivers
- Governmental, telecom or EO/SAR satellite systems
- Space receivers and deep space navigation
Geolocation and RFI monitoring techniques.
- Strong technical and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary international teams.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Eligible to obtain an EU personal security clearance from the relevant national authority.
- Candidates must be EU nationals.
