Database Automation Engineer

Together with the team you will provide support for and build out our cloud infrastructure. You believe in automating the cloud via Infrastructure as Code (IaC) as much as with custom automation. With the automation you introduce, as well as your knowledge of deployment pipelines, our developers can rest assured that their applications will deploy without any troubles. You enjoy doing this

• Writing a serverless application in Python that creates a backup everyday to S3.
• Optimize a SQL statement that causes problems, together with the developer that created it.
• Set up and configure auditing in an Oracle database.
• Helping a fellow developer troubleshoot a bug in one of our backend systems.
• Helping an auditor on reporting auditing settings on the Oracle database.
• Helping a development team to make a plan for the major version upgrade of their Aurora database.
• Automation of continuous delivery pipelines in Python and writing unit tests for your beautiful code.
• Working in an agile environment to contribute innovative solutions for the IT infrastructure of Coolblue.

You recognize yourself in the following

• You have a problem solving mindset.
• You have experience working with any cloud environment, preferably AWS (Solutions Architect Associate certificate a plus).
• Your mindset is that all issues from all development teams are important, but some are more important than others.
• You have development experience in Python.
• You ‘automate all the things’, from bootstrap to backup.
• You have experience with observability solutions like DataDog.
• You have experience with Oracle 19c databases and Oracle GoldenGate, even better if you have an Oracle Database Certification.
• You know your way around query-optimization, Oracle RDS database architecture and the challenges of Oracle on the AWS platform.
• Knowledge of AWS Aurora or any database on AWS RDS is a bonus.
